Wes Moore Essay - Essay TopicsIf you have ever read the Wes Moore essay 'More than Belief' on your college-level English courses, you may think that this has a lot of the same themes that others have in common. I was also quite surprised with how many themes there were that just didn't fit well to the way the essay has been written. It still contains a few themes that are quite common and I will discuss them in this essay.The first few essay topics in the essay had to do with different types of beliefs and how different types of beliefs had very similar assumptions. A few examples would be when people assume that if a person believes something is true, then they must be right. And that belief would then lead to different types of actions like believing something while not doing it, believing something while intending to act on it, believing something because someone else told you to believe it, etc. There are many others that I could list.I also wanted to bring up how famous personal ities like Taylor Swift who was named the world's sexiest woman (based on various polls) believed in reincarnation. This meant that she often went to the people who were dead in order to communicate with them. She believed in reincarnation even after having lost all of her close friends, just like we all should.The other major theme that the essay has is thinking that one will be better off living on in the past or the future. After having read the essay I cannot help but think that these two things are different and the life experience in the present is actually much better. The past and the future seem very stressful to be living through.Living through the present in a good way is actually easier. Because the present is already filled with everything that is going to happen and one is experiencing things through the lens of the present and no part of the past. So the earlier one can experience the things that happen in the present the better they are.In addition to these essay top ics Wes Moore has another very interesting one that is about self-esteem. This one talks about how important it is to consider the value of our self-worth and take care of ourselves. Once, an individual starts taking care of themselves they will feel more confident in themselves.I also found other interesting topics on the essay topics. One of these was where he talked about his passion for life. He is passionate about his life and even though he does not feel he is at his peak yet he always wishes that he could be at his peak.Overall I enjoyed the essay topics that were discussed in this essay. I did find that Wes Moore also included a lot of different themes in this essay but I felt that he left some of the best essays out. I also believe that these essays will teach students to look at life differently and see different ideas through different eyes.
